How to reduce no-shows at your event

To reduce no-shows, remind guests before the event, make it easy for them to cancel, and give every freed seat to someone on the waitlist. Eventera sends the reminders by itself and moves the waitlist up when a seat frees.

Here is how to set it up in five steps, with only what Eventera does today.

Create your event

Step by step

  1. Keep the reminders on Eventera emails each guest the day before and 2 hours before, with their QR code or join link. Find them in Messages, under Automatic.
  2. Let guests save the date The ticket email and the ticket page have Add to calendar, for Google Calendar and Outlook.
  3. Turn on the waitlist A guest who can’t come cancels from their ticket page. The seat goes to the next person on the waitlist, who gets a ticket by email.
  4. Set a closing date Registration closes on the date you set, so you have a final list in time for the venue and the catering.
  5. Message your guests Send a note to everyone, or to one group only, now or at a set time.

More ways to keep seats full

  • Approval: check each sign-up before the ticket goes out
  • Seats you add, and guests you remove, go to the waitlist first
  • A message on the day to the guests not checked in yet
  • A new date or place: guests are told by email automatically

Measure it

After the event, the report shows who came and who did not show. Export it to a spreadsheet and compare your next event.
